Sunway TES Beyond Accounting Challenge 2025 rules

The Sunway TES Beyond Accounting Challenge 2025 is a nationwide online quiz competition organized by Sunway TES (STES).

The quiz questions shall test the student's understanding and general knowledge in the accounting field and shall include the Prinsip Perakaunan related chapters for Form 4 and Form 5.

The rules relating to the Sunway TES Beyond Accounting Challenge 2025 are as follows:

1.0 Quiz Structure

  1. The quiz consists of a Preliminary Round (held online) and a Final Round (held phyiscally).
  2. The period for the above rounds will be determined by Sunway TES and announced at the official website. Such periods are however subject to change and any changes will be announced in the official website.
  3. There are two categories for participation - as INDIVIDUAL, or as a TEAM with three (3) members.
  4. For the Preliminary Round (held online), participants will answer 50 questions within 30 minutes. All three team members will likewise answer their seperate set of 50 questions within 30 minutes. 
  5. Quiz questions are in Bahasa Malaysia only. 
  6. The top ten (10) individuals, and top ten (10) teams, will be selected for the on-site (phyiscal) FINAL Round.

  1. The Sunway TES Beyond Accounting Challenge 2025 is open to:
    1. All Form 5 students of all secondary schools including but not limiting to national secondary schools (regular and fully residential), technical secondary schools, vocational secondary schools, Government aided religious (secondary) schools, state religious secondary schools, private schools, Chinese independent high schools, MARA Junior Science Colleges and Royal Military College throughout Malaysia for the academic year 2025; and
    2. Students from Chinese independent high schools who are currently pursuing their Senior Middle 2 or Senior Middle 3, but have yet to sit for their SPM.
    3. Malaysian students only.
  2. Schools are encouraged to send as many participants as possible to compete.
  3. The participant is required to have good internet access and a up-to-date browser.

  1. The Sunway TES Beyond Accounting Challenge 2025 registration is FREE for all participants.
  2. All participants must register and complete the online quiz within the specified deadlines. Any registrations made after the deadline shall not be entertained.
  3. During the online registration, each participant must key-in:
    1. The name of the Pengetua or the Principal in the system.
    2. The name and contact details of the teacher advisor (Prinsip Perakaunan teacher or the school counselling teacher).
  4. Upon completion of the Registration Form, participants shall immediately begin the quiz. Make sure you have a good internet connection.

  1. All participants are required to complete the Preliminary Round Quiz Registration, and immediately begin to answer fifty (50) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) within a time-limit of 30 minutes. Remember to submit your quiz answers upon expiry of the time limit.
  2. Failure to adhere to the system´s instructions will result in a disqualification from taking part.
  3. During the Preliminary Round, no discussion whatsoever among the participants is allowed and no assistance from the teacher advisor or external parties is allowed.
  4. In the event of a tie of total points in the Preliminary Round, the ranking will be determined by the least total time taken by the participant to answer the fifty (50) MCQs.
  5. The qualifying criteria to advance to the Final Round will be the top 10 participants with the highest points (for individuals) and the top 10 teams with the highest total points.
  6. No points shall be carried forward to the next round.
  7. Details on the Final Round will be provided at a later date.
  8. All decisions made by the judges are FINAL.

  1. The following will result in a disqualification of the participant in the quiz regardless of the round that the participant is in:
    1. Any disagreement on the decision made by the panel of judges in any Quiz Round by a participant will result in a disqualification of that participant.
    2. Any breach of the Rules contained herein by the participant.
    3. If Sunway TES suspected/found that a participant has attempted to cheat or tamper or hack the system.
    4. If the participant disconnects from the online website at any time during the period of the ongoing quiz.
  2. Any decision made by Sunway TES regarding disqualification of a participant is FINAL and not appealable.

Sunway TES reserves the rights to make changes to the Sunway TES Beyond Accounting Challenge 2025 Rules at any time, when deemed necessary.

ABOUT Sunway TES Beyond Accounting Challenge

The Sunway TES Beyond Accounting Challenge 2025 is a competition organised by Sunway TES Centre for Accountancy Excellence.

The competition is open to all Form 4 and Form 5 students who would like to enhance their knowledge in accounting, commerce and business and currently studying at secondary schools all over Malaysia including National Secondary Schools, Full Residential Schools, National Religious Schools, National Secondary Chinese Schools; all of which are under the Ministry of Education, MARA Junior Science Colleges, Royal Military College and Private Schools. Students from Chinese independent high schools who are currently pursuing their Senior Middle 2 or Senior Middle 3, but have yet to sit for their SPM are also allowed to participate.

Participation can be on an INDIVIDUAL basis or as a TEAM of three (3). The competition is held over two rounds - a preliminary ONLINE Round and a grand finals PHYSICAL on-site Round. Ten top individuals and ten top teams will be selected to participate in a grand final.

Participants of the competition shall undergo questions in the quiz that would test their understanding and knowledge regarding accounting that would include the subject matter of Prinsip Perakaunan, Perniagaan, and Ekonomi from the Form 4 and Form 5 syllabus.
